Required to protect Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) located in Huntsville, AL. Armed Guards are responsible for conducting armed security patrols, entrance control, personnel escort duties, law and order duties, and security and fire safety surveillance.
Must have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to successfully complete an extensive pre-employment medical evaluation.
Must be able to successfully complete an extensive training program including non-lethal weapons and Firearm qualified initially and semi-annually.
Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability read and follow written directives including standard operating procedures, safety practices, policies and procedures.
Must be able to work long shift hours, both day and night shifts, holidays and weekends.
Must be a citizen of the United States.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
A drug screen and thorough background check will be conducted by COGAR and a background investigation by the Federal government is required to obtain an access authorization prior to employment. Subsequent reinvestigations may be required. Random drug screens are a requirement.
Any combination of two (2) years of experience in either physical security (as a Security Officer-armed or unarmed) and/or service with the United States Armed Services (to include Reserves or National Guard components); OR Permanent Resident serving in US Military component or with an Honorable Discharge; OR an Associate’s Degree in Security or Law Enforcement related field; OR Successful completion of a security/police officer’s basic training academy.
